Bibelot is a late nineteenth century word derived from the French word bel 'beautiful', meaning a small item of beauty, curiosity or interest. The word ephemera is derived from the sixteenth century Greek word ephmera meaning a printed or hand written paper not meant to be retained for a long period of time.

Fine and rare antique imperial Russian menu embossed with the rarely used personal coat-of-arms of the imperial family, which adorned menus used by the Empress Marie Feodorovna (1847-1928), and later as Dowager Empress at Gatchina, and incorporates images of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel. In tiny print across the canopy of the arms are the words "Съ Нами Богъ" - God is with us.
