Bibelot is a late nineteenth century word derived from the French word bel 'beautiful', meaning a small item of beauty, curiosity or interest. The word ephemera is derived from the sixteenth century Greek word ephmera meaning a printed or hand written paper not meant to be retained for a long period of time.

Fine antique Dinner Menu for Queen Victoria's personal use at Balmoral Castle, beautifully printed with an image of the Castle, a stag, fruit, flowers and the royal coat of arms, used as a programme for a play entitled 'Caught Last', probably for Queen Victoria's amusement due to the 'young window' character and the cast which included the daughter of Queen Victoria, Princess Victoria of Prussia, another relative Princess Leiningen and Lady Cadogan, Lady-in-Waiting.
