Fine antique Imperial German porcelain cup and saucer circa 1898-1912 hand painted with the arms of Marienburg the medieval fortress of the Teutonic Order symbolising Prussian/Hohenzollern ideology. Kaiser Wilhelm II supported the restoration of the fortress from 1896 to 1918 holding official ceremonies and such gifts as this cup and saucer by Bavaria Zeh Scherzer were produced for imperial gusts, high nobles and foreign visitors.
