Fine antique invitation to luncheon dated 19th March 1894 hosted by Grand Duke Frederick Francis III of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1851-1897), and his wife Grand Duchess Anastasia Mikhailovna of Russia later Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1860-1922), in honour of his birthday at the Restaurant de la Reserve in Cannes, the menu is embossed with a crown, written in French. Richard Winslow who was present has annotated the page with a list of guests which included Prince Ourousoff, Count and Countess Munster, Grand Duke George of Russia, Duke Leuchtenberg and Countess Torby.

Later that same day a dinner was given by Lord and Lady Brougham at Chateau Eleonore in Cannes, famous for its beautiful gardens, in honour of the Prince of Wales later King Edward VII who was holidaying in Cannes, having arrived from Monaco. The menu is attractively embossed in gold with two ladies in a rowing boat on a lake. Richard Winslow who was present at the Dinner has annotated the page with a list of guests, which included Princess de Sagan, one time mistress of the Prince of Wales, Baron Alphonse de Rothschild, Mr and Mrs Ogden Goelet, and Maurice Euphressi.

On the reverse is another dinner menu for 14 people hosted by the Winslow's at their Villa Winslow in Cannes dated 13th March 1894 in honour of the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, embossed in silver with the Winslow coat of arms. Richard Winslow has annotated the page with the list of guests, which included Captain Fortescue from the Royal Yacht Britannia, lord and Lady Brougham, Captain and Mrs Green, Mr and Mrs Ogden Goelet, the Herbert's, Marquise de Gallifet, Count and Countess Edmond de Pourtales, one time mistress to the Prince of Wales. Winslow has pasted newspaper articles relating to the dinner.

From the collection of Richard and Mary Winslow, English/American aristocrats who had the Villa Winslow in Cannes during the 1870s-1890s and were friends with aristocrats and royals from all over the world. Mary was a great beauty and had by family tradition once been a mistress of the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII.
