Fine antique gilt edged royal invitation from Queen Victoria to Miss Bigge to attend an Evening Party at Osborne on Thursday and Saturday 25th and 27th July? 1894, accompanied by an original Victorian albumen photograph of Osborne.
Provenance - Arthur Bigge, 1st Baron Stamfordham (1849-1931), and his daughter Margaret. He was a British Army officer and courtier. He was Private Secretary to Queen Victoria during the last few years of her reign, King Edward VII and to King George V during most of his reign. He was the maternal grandfather of Lord Adeane, Private Secretary to Queen Elizabeth II from 1953 to 1972.
