Fine antique invitation from Queen Elizabeth II to a Gala State Performance at the Royal Opera house, Covent Garden to celebrate the State Visit of President Charles de Gaulle of France, dated 7th April 1960, embossed in gold at the header with ERII surmounted by a crown. Also accompanied by an invitation from the President to a Reception hosted by the French Ambassador at the Embassy dated 6th April 1960. From the collection of Major Michael Charles Babington Hawkins (1914-1977), and his wife Virginia nee Heath, he was ADC to Prince Henry Duke of Gloucester.
