Fine antique signed letter in French from Princess Elisabeth Esperovna Trubetskoy (1834-1907), written on her personal stationery embossed with LT surmounted by a crown (Lise Trubetskoy), she was a Russian noblewoman known for her influential salon in Paris during the second empire, where she played a role in Franco-Russian diplomatic relations in the 1870s.

"Brussels

I forgot to ask you, dear

Prince, whether the porter

properly informed you

about a circumstance

to which I attach

little importance,

but to which

my daughter is very attached—

Taga – I have not…

yet had the opportunity

to arrange the whole

lower part of the

residence, and I

do know, however, that

Princess Lise had me

included on

the lists sent to

S. Elysée –

I would very much like

to know whether it is

an omission or

a misunderstanding?

It is always good

to know these things

quite exactly.

Receive, dear Prince,

my most affectionate

regards.

Princess

Lise Troubetskoy

29 November"
