The document gives a detailed first hand narrative of events surrounding allegations made to the Greek Government that the King was implicated in a plot to overthrow the Greek state, including claims of assassination plans, diplomatic misunderstandings between London and Athens, and the King;'s urgent meetings with the Queen at Windsor and with the Prime Minister at No 10 Downing Street. It further records allegations of telephone and residential surveillance, including the discovery of sophisticated bugging equipment, and the Queen's direct intervention with senior Foreign Office figures.
