Fine antique signed letter in French from Baron Joseph-Dominique Louis (1755-1837), dated Paris 31st December no year, addressed to a sous-prefet. Written as Finance minister while serving on the Budget Commission. Louis introduces an intermediary sent on his behalf and comments on local administrative appointments at Bercy, expressing concern over conflicts of interest linked to wine trade. He proposes the nomination of a neutral deputy and requests the advancement of official permission to fell a tree on his estate of Petit-Bry, citing seasonal urgency.
