Fine antique collection of documents relating to the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary, including New Scotland Yard letter from Sir Edward Henry informing Childers that a mounted police officer has been directed to attend the residence of the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin dated 20th June 1911, also included is a typed letter regarding their carriage for the Royal Progress dated 23rd June 1911, another typed letter dated 6th June 1911 informing Childers of his appointment to attend to the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, two letters on embossed German Imperial Embassy stationery in German and English informing Childers to appear in uniform at the Embassy dated 25th June 1911 accompanied by the embossed invitation from the Ambassador to Childers to meet the Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Germany.
From the collection of Colonel E.S.E. Childers (1854-1919), Royal Engineers, and ADC to Lord Wolseley in Egypt and Ireland. He was also appointed to attend to Grand Duke Frederick Francis IV and Grand Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin for the duration of the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911.
