From the collection of Richard Winslow (1848-1896), born in Chicago to Hezekiah and Helen nee Clarke and Mary Aphia Winslow nee Hurlings Denison (1861-1933), she was born in Pennsylvania to Charles a lawyer and member of the 38th Congress of the USA, her mother was Mary Elizabeth Hulings. They married on the Isle of Wight in 1883 and they had two children that died in infancy. They were wealthy Americans who owned the magnificent Villa Winslow in Cannes during the 1890s and were friends with aristocrats and royals from all over the world.
