Fine antique signed letter dated 4th March 1938 from Mary, Princess Royal Countess of Harewood (1897-1965), only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary, addressed to her son Gerald, written on stationery embossed with 'The Royal Palace Athens' surmounted by a. crown, signed "Mummy".discussing her journey on HMS Sussex and flying her standard, she then goes on to discuss her sightseeing in Athens for the day and opening the Anglo-Alliance League, dinner with the Ambassador Sir Sydney Waterlow, a trip with Princess Irene and Katherine to Marathon Lake, Girl Guide International Company, Yacht Club, and her depart for Olympia From the collection of Gerald David Lascelles (1924-1998) and Angela Lascelles (1919-2007), first wife of the Honourable Gerald Lascelles second son of the 6th Earl of Harewood and his wife the Princess Royal - despite divorcing she remained very close to Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family.
