Fine antique Dinner Menu embossed in gold with the full British Royal Arms, the menu in French prepared for the Duke and Duchess of York later King George V and Queen Mary, during their world tour, 5th July (1901) Government House, Hobart, hosted by the Governor of Tasmania Sir Arthur Havelock, with corrected dish in handwriting likely by the chef de cuisine. The royal couple arrived in Hobart aboard HMS Ophir and opened the first Commonwealth Parliament marking the birth of the modern Australian nation.
