Fine antique royal invitation to dine at the Royal Palace in Oslo from King Haakon VII of Norway, dated 21st April 1954, the Court was in mourning for Crown Princess Martha who had passed away two weeks before, Hawkins no doubt was in Oslo for the funeral. From the collection of Major Michael Charles Babington Hawkins (1914-1977), and his wife Virginia nee Heath, he was ADC to Prince Henry Duke of Gloucester.
