Fine antique Victorian red leather fitted card box circa 1860-1880, retaining four packs of playing cards by the celebrated London makers De La Rue & Co and Goodall & Son - the box is gilt stamped 'Goodall London'. The interior fitted with four compartments and marbled paper lid. There are 45 cards plus the De La Rue Duty Three Pence card in brown, whilst the other De la Rue pack in blue contain 43 cards plus the De La Rue Three Pence card, there are in addition to these 20 Goodall cards plus the Goodall name card and 16 additional green cards. The exterior is covered in red embossed leather with decorative gilt tooling. A later National Trust for Scotland collection label to the underside records a former ownership 'Dr Iain Cuthbertson, Auchenvhin'
