Fine antique formal luncheon invitation in French, issued by Grand Duke Friedrich Franz III of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1851-1897) and his wife, Grand Duchess Anastasia Mikhailovna of Russia (1860-1922), granddaughter of Tsar Nicholas I made by Maison Stern. The printed and folded invitation requests the recipient's company to luncheon at the Villa Isola Bella, Cannes, on the French Riviera, where the couple lived before establishing their own residence, Villa Wenden in 1889. Maison Stern specialised in engraving letter paper, invitations, announcements, monograms, signet rings, and greeting cards for members of royal families and aristocracy from around the world.
