Fine antique invitation on behalf of the family of the bride Duchess of Chevreuse, the Duke and Duchess of Doudeaville, Dowager Duchess and Duke and Duchess of Luynes to the wedding of their daughter/granddaughter/sister to the Duke d'Ayen later 8th Duke de Noailles at the church of Dampierre given by Cardinal Archbishop of Reims dated 6th December 1892 - train details from Paris to Saint-Remy are included. Accompanying this invitation are three calling cards of the Duchess de Luynes, the Duke de Luynes and another Duchess de Luynes with her maiden name of La Rouchefoucauld. Anewspaper article describing the event at the Chateau de Dampierre (the Noailles estate) with the wedding cortege.The groom was Adrien-Maurice de Noailles (1869-1953), then Duc d'Ayen, later 8th Duke de Noailles. The bride was Madelaine de Luynes (1870-1944), daughter of the 8th Duke de Luynes and his wife Sophie nee Galitzine a Russian princess.

From the collection of Richard Winslow (1848-1896), born in Chicago to Hezekiah and Helen nee Clarke and Mary Aphia Winslow nee Hurlings Denison (1861-1933), she was born in Pennsylvania to Charles a lawyer and member of the 38th Congress of the USA, her mother was Mary Elizabeth Hulings. They married on the Isle of Wight in 1883 and they had two children that died in infancy. They were wealthy Americans who owned the magnificent Villa Winslow in Cannes during the 1890s and were friends with aristocrats and royals from all over the world. Mary was a great beauty and had by family tradition once been a mistress of the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII.
