Fine antique invitation embossed in gold with the royal coat of arms to a Reception at Lancaster House in honour of the State Visit of Ferik Ibrahim Abbood, President of the Republic of Sudan (1900-1983), dated 27th May 1964, hosted by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Rab Butler Baron Butler of Saffron Walden (1902-1982). From the collection of Major Michael Charles Babington Hawkins (1914-1977), and his wife Virginia nee Heath, he was ADC to Prince Henry Duke of Gloucester.
