Fine antique signed letter dated 12th February 1936 from Mary, Princess Royal Countess of Harewood (1897-1965), only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary, addressed to her son Gerald, signed "Mummy", written on embossed mourning stationery for Buckingham Palace, discussing wiring to his uncle the Earl of Lonsdale to thank him for his birthday presents as well as discussing Queen Ary's move to Marlborough House and lunching with Prince George and Princess Marina of Kent:  "I went with Grannie to Marlborough House to have a look at it as Grannie is going live there - Yesterday Grannie and I lunched with Uncle George and Aunt Marina...". From the collection of Gerald David Lascelles (1924-1998) and Angela Lascelles (1919-2007), first wife of the Honourable Gerald Lascelles second son of the 6th Earl of Harewood and his wife the Princess Royal - despite divorcing she remained very close to Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family.
