Fine antique signed letter dated 27th January 1939 Mary, Princess Royal Countess of Harewood (1897-1965), only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary, addressed to her son Gerald, signed "Mummy", on Sandringham embossed stationery, relating to a visit to Cambridge and "On Wednesday at 4.15 Uncle Bertie, Daddy etc went to Wolverton after duck. Uncle Bertie got 20 and Daddy 10 - yesterday afternoon Uncle Bertie etc not Daddy went after pigeons..." She later discusses a performance of Snow White and Giants of the Forest. From the collection of Gerald David Lascelles (1924-1998) and Angela Lascelles (1919-2007), first wife of the Honourable Gerald Lascelles second son of the 6th Earl of Harewood and his wife the Princess Royal - despite divorcing she remained very close to Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family.
