Fine antique signed letter in French from Princess Vera Lvoff nee Wolkonsky (1848-1924), dated 18th July 1921, written on her personal stationery embossed with her arms and initials, she was a Russian noblewoman known for her charitable endeavours among the emigre community.
"Dear and kind Count,
I sincerely thank you for your letter of July 13 (No. 92) and for the enclosures concerning the Sister of Charity and for the receipt of the registered letter. Good heavens! If I had thought that you were writing to your brother Lomid, who loved us all, I would have asked you to pass along my best regards and memories. This time, I ask you—next time you write to him—to do so. My poor memory made me forget to tell you before you had already left, just as I forgot to ask you to warmly congratulate Mme de G., who holds you in great affection.
