Fine antique signed letter on Buckingham Palace embossed stationery from Sir John Colville (1915-1987), he was Private Secretary to Princess Elizabeth later Queen Elizabeth II 1947-1949 and Private Secretary to Sir Winston Churchill 1940-1941 and 1943-1945. Charming letter dated 10th December 1947 addressed to Mrs Mould thanking her for sending and offering to Princess Elizabeth two concert programmes of evening parties held during the reign of Queen Victoria, "The Princess does not, however, feel that she can deprive you of a possession which she feels sure that you value..and..desires me to let you know how touched she was that you should have sent them."
